Ironwood Casualty

Created to provide a well-rounded, stable, and cost-effective insurance alternative for current and prospective members of our affiliated self-insurance groups.

Launched in September 2025, Ironwood expands the protection available to organizations already enrolled with Commonwealth Contractors and Virginia Commerce.

Our Structure

Ironwood Casualty does not maintain its own employee base. Administrative services are provided through aligned management resources to ensure operational efficiency and consistency with affiliated programs.

This lean structure supports cost-effectiveness while maintaining high service standards and expertise throughout.

As our affiliated groups grew, so did member needs. Workers’ compensation alone was not enough. To offer a truly comprehensive and competitive alternative to the commercial insurance market, we chose to provide additional lines of coverage that our members needed.

We provide broader property and casualty offerings to the members of our affiliated self-insurance groups, allowing agencies and organizations to consolidate coverage within a stable, member-aligned structure.
